GPL champions Asante Kotoko to have pre-season in Turkey

Kumasi AAsante Kotoko have announced that the club will be traveling to Turkey to prepare for the 2022/23 Ghana football season.

The 2021/22 Ghana Premier League champions will be leaving the shores of Ghana for a preseason tour. Kotoko will hope to have a better pre-season ahead of their CAF Champions League season also.

The Porcupine Warriors their 24th Premier League title under Prosper Narteh Ogum and will be hoping for a successful campaign in the Ghana Premier League and next season’s CAF Champions League.

According to the club, Asante Kotoko will fly out to Turkey for a preseason tour from August 15 to August 30.

The playing body is expected to re-group this week under youth coach Abdulai Gazale following the shocking exit of Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum.

Asante Kotoko opted for a preseason training in Turkey hoping to give their players a different terrain and atmosphere to have them adequately prepared for the upcoming football season.

Meanwhile, a meeting is expected to be held between the board and the management to resolve the impasse.

Prosper Narteh Ogum, who is the head coach of the side has threatened to resign.
