GPHA Board Conducts Familiarisation Tour of Port and Health Facilities

Accra: The Governing Board of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA), led by Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has embarked on a familiarisation tour of significant GPHA-owned facilities. This initiative aims to enhance the board's understanding of the operations and strategic requirements of these facilities.

According to Ghana Web, the tour, conducted on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, included visits to several key sites such as the Jamestown Fishing Harbour, the Tema Fishing Harbour, the GPHA Health Post at the Tema Fishing Harbour, the GPHA Main Clinic, and the International Maritime Hospital (IMaH). At each location, the management teams provided comprehensive presentations to the Board, detailing their mandates, daily operations, significant achievements, and both medium- and long-term development plans.

The briefings also highlighted various operational challenges and potential areas for improvement. During the tour, Asiedu Nketiah commended the management teams for their commitment and effective leadership. He affirmed the Board's commitment to providing the necessary policy guidance and support to increase efficiency, enhance service delivery, and fully leverage the potential of GPHA's assets.
