GOIL PLC Reports Significant Financial Gains in 2025 with Increased Stakeholder Value

Accra: Ghana's indigenous oil marketing company, GOIL PLC, reported a net profit after tax of GHC 90.67 million for 2025, marking a 7.05 percent increase from GHC 84.70 million recorded in 2024. Although gross revenue experienced a decline from GHC 20.36 billion in 2024 to GHC 18.55 billion in 2025, the company's Board of Directors announced a dividend of GHC 0.060 per share for 2025, totaling about GHC 23.5 million. This marks the first increase in dividend in three years.

According to Ghana News Agency, the company's Earnings Per Share (EPS) improved from GHC 0.2160 to GHC 0.2310, while the Market Price of Share increased from GHC 1.52 in 2024 to GHC 2.96 by the end of 2025. Nana Philip Archer, Board Chairman of GOIL PLC, attributed this performance to enhanced operational efficiency despite challenges in the global and domestic petroleum market. Significant reductions in depot and station expenses, administrative costs, and finance expenses were achieved, reflecting the company's commitment to operational excellence.

Total assets rose to GHC 4.88 billion, and there were notable reductions in overdrafts and term loan obligations. The annual report also highlighted an improvement in earnings per share by 6.94 percent, demonstrating GOIL's ability to transform operational discipline into lasting shareholder value. The company aims to increase the storage capacity of its GOBitumen business to 12,000 metric tonnes by the end of 2026, alongside improving customer experience and operational efficiency.

GOIL PLC successfully attained ISO 45001:2018 certification in 2025 while retaining ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications, reinforcing its commitment to global best practices. Nationwide, 3,144 HSSEQ inspections were conducted with all identified non-conformities fully resolved. The company maintained environmental compliance without incident and bolstered its culture of safety and accountability through extensive training programs.

GOIL's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives included donations of hospital beds and medical equipment, construction of boreholes in underserved communities, and related interventions. Mr. Archer emphasized the importance of measuring corporate success not only by profit but also by the positive impact on communities. Looking forward, the Board Chairman stated that the company plans to maintain discipline and innovation, strengthen its leadership position, and create sustainable value for stakeholders.
