Accra: Aspiring New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako, known as Chairman Wontumi, has pledged to create jobs for young people if he is elected. Speaking to members of the Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON) and students at the University of Ghana Business School on May 16, 2026, Wontumi expressed his commitment to improving job prospects in the country.
According to Ghana Web, Wontumi stated that an NPP government under Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in 2028, alongside his leadership, would significantly improve employment opportunities for graduates and the unemployed. "If you make me the National Chairman and Dr. Bawumia becomes the president in 2028, God will use me to create jobs in this country," he assured the students.
He further emphasized that his leadership would ensure that graduates and job seekers, including their relatives, would find employment. Wontumi is one of the key figures positioning themselves for the NPP's internal leadership contests as the party gears up for the 2028 general elections.
