Accra:Several prominent figures from Ghana's political and media sectors are set to be officially admitted to the legal profession on Friday, October 9, 2026.
According to Ghana Web, the individuals expected to join the legal profession include the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, the Communications Minister, Sam Nartey George, and broadcast journalist, Umaru Sanda Amadu. Also among the notable names are Phylis Naa Koryoo Okunor, Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East, and Davis Opoku Ansah, Member of Parliament for Mpraeso.
The ceremony, which will see more than 1,400 individuals called to the Bar, marks the culmination of their legal training and allows them to practice law in Ghana. The event serves as a formal admission of successful law graduates into the legal profession after they have completed the necessary education and training.
Videos circulating on social media platform X have shown some of these personalities attending a call-to-dinner event ahead of the ceremony. Earlier in March 2026, another group was inducted, which included Serwaa Amihere, a well-known media personality in Ghana. Last year, approximately 824 lawyers were called to the Bar.
