Accra: The Bank of Ghana's January Monetary Policy Report highlights that consumer and business confidence in Ghana remained strong in December 2025, showing an improvement compared to October 2025.
According to Ghana Web, the consumer confidence index increased to 116.4 from 115.3 in October, while business confidence rose from 106.5 to 107.7. The Bank noted that firms achieved their short-term targets and showed renewed optimism about future prospects due to improving macroeconomic conditions.
The report's findings align with changes in Ghana's Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI), which increased to 51.1 in December 2025 from 50.1 in November. The BoG report suggests that both business and consumer confidence are on an upward trend, reflecting improved business activity driven by higher new orders.
The overall outlook indicates that Ghana's economy is continuing to rebound. Following the Central Bank's decision to further cut the policy rate and stabilise the foreign exchange market, analysts believe this could guide the economy toward a more stable path of accelerated recovery.
