Agyemadiem: Reverend Frank Donkor, Member of the Western North Regional Peace Council, has called on Ghanaians, particularly those residing in the Western North Region, to actively support the Council's initiatives to foster accelerated development. He emphasized that the Peace Council's mandate is to ensure harmonious living among people, a goal that necessitates the involvement and cooperation of every individual.
According to Ghana News Agency, Rev. Donkor made these remarks during an interview following a successful community engagement event held by the Peace Council at Agyemadiem in the Juaboso District. The event, themed 'Promoting Community Vigilance and Social Cohesion,' aimed to unite residents in discussions on enhancing peaceful coexistence and devising effective strategies to combat crime at the community level.
Rev. Donkor stressed, "When there is peace, we are assured of development. That is why I am calling on Ghanaians, especially those in the Western North Region, to always embrace peace at all levels. It is the foundation for positive socio-economic development." He also assured that the Council would continue its efforts to engage more communities on the importance of living peacefully with one another.
He noted that while the Council is committed to these initiatives, it requires the maximum support of all stakeholders to achieve success. Nana Kofi Donkor II, the Chief of Agyemadiem, praised the Peace Council for organizing the engagement and suggested that more such programs be conducted to reinforce community ties.
