London: Ghanaian lawyer Nania Owusu-Ankomah, a partner at Bentsi-Enchill, Letsa, and Ankomah, has been appointed as the Vice President of the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA).
According to Ghana Web, the announcement was made in a statement shared on social media by her law firm on May 18, 2026. Before her appointment as Vice President, Owusu-Ankomah was already a member of the LCIA. The director of LCIA, Kevin Nash, praised her for her contribution to the court, stating that her dedication and leadership have significantly impacted the LCIA and the international arbitration community.
Nania Owusu-Ankomah is a Partner in the Disputes practice group at Bentsi-Enchill, Letsa, and Ankomah. She is known for advising and representing clients in high-value litigation and arbitration disputes. Her expertise extends to both international and domestic arbitrations, where she has served as an arbitrator in institutional and ad hoc proceedings. Her clientele includes prominent companies such as Tullow, Epiroc, Stena Drilling Limited, and Stanbic Bank Ghana Limited, among others.
Owusu-Ankomah is also a member of the Court of the LCIA and serves as President of the LCIA African Users' Council. Her affiliations include the Ghana Chapter of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK), the English Commercial Bar (COMBAR) Africa Committee, and the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR. She has been actively involved in the Africa Arbitration Group of the International Bar Association (IBA) Arbitration Committee and has contributed to the Commonwealth International Arbitration Study.
Her academic credentials include a B.A. (Hons) from the University of Ghana, a Qualifying Law Degree and LLM from the University of Leeds, and a Qualifying Certificate in Law from the Ghana School of Law. She also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the University of Law in London.
