Eswatini: Ghanaian Guinness World Record-holding eco-artist Sharon Dede Padi, popularly known as Padiki, has performed a live painting for King Mswati III of Eswatini. The performance was part of the celebrations marking the monarch's 58th birthday and 40th anniversary on the throne, attended by heads of state and dignitaries from across Africa and beyond.
According to Ghana News Agency, Padiki was invited by Eswatini's Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with the Royal Kingdom to unveil a live artwork titled 'Two Kingdoms, One Africa.' 'Each leaf represented the memory of where it grew, rain, heat, time, and people,' she explained, noting that the leaves, sourced from Ghana and Eswatini, symbolized unity between the two nations.
The artwork, built on the African continent motif, was enriched with gold tones and intricate patterns reflecting shared heritage and generational identity. Padiki placed King Mswati III at its center, portraying him as a symbol of enduring leadership and continuity, likened to 'the oldest trees whose roots remain long after seasons pass.' She later presented the completed piece to the King.
