Accra: The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has announced revised floor prices for petroleum products in Ghana for the first pricing window of March 2026, effective from March 1 to March 15, 2026. Under the new pricing structure, motorists will pay GHS10.46 per litre for petrol and GHS11.42 per litre for diesel.
According to Ghana Web, the NPA has mandated that no Oil Marketing Company (OMC) is allowed to sell below these revised prices, marking a slight increase from the second pricing window of February 2026, when petrol was priced at GHS10.24 per litre. This change is already reflected at various fuel stations across the country.
Checks by GhanaWeb Business on the morning of March 2 revealed that several fuel stations had complied with the new directive. At Star Oil, petrol is being sold at GHS10.97 and diesel at GHS12.49, with discounted rates available at GHS10.46 for petrol and GHS11.97 for diesel. Meanwhile, RON 95 remains unchanged at GHS12.97. GOIL has also updated its prices, with petrol now costing GHS10.46, diesel GHS12.53, and Super XP GHS13.50. Smaller OMCs have similarly adjusted their prices to align with the NPA's directive.
The adjustment in fuel prices is anticipated to affect both businesses and households by increasing operational costs. For consumers, the hike could lead to higher prices for goods and services, as vehicle owners and motorists are expected to spend more on fuel in the coming days.
