GES Reiterates No Authorization for Schools to Charge Fees

Accra: The Ghana Education Service (GES) has firmly declared that no educational institution is permitted to impose fees on students or parents under any guise. In a statement disseminated through Facebook and shared with the Ghana News Agency, GES emphasized that claims about schools charging fees are false and should be ignored by the public.

According to Ghana News Agency, GES highlighted that any school found demanding money under the pretense of feeding fees is violating regulations and lacks official approval. The government remains committed to the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy and aspires to enhance it further, indicating no deviation from this initiative.

The statement further warned that any actions attempting to undermine the Free SHS policy, whether by spreading misinformation or covertly imposing fees, will be considered as acts against national interest. GES urged students and parents who encounter schools demanding feeding fees to report such incidents to the Management for thorough investigation and appropriate measures.
