Accra: The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that promotion letters for teachers who passed the recent promotion examination will be ready by mid-August. In a statement dated July 28, 2026, and signed by Daniel Fenyi, Head of Public Relations, the Service confirmed that the letters will be dispatched to Regional Education Directorates beginning August 15, 2026. Qualified teachers are expected to be placed on their appropriate salary scales by August 31, 2026.
According to Ghana Web, the statement assured teachers that the Service is working diligently to complete the process and expressed appreciation to staff for their patience and commitment. The release stated, "The letters will be dispatched to Regional Educational Directorates from August 15, 2026, and qualified teachers will be placed on appropriate scales by August 31, 2026."
The announcement comes amidst a backdrop of significant interest in teacher promotions, with 40,000 applications received for only 7,000 available slots, as explained by Haruna Iddrisu regarding the teacher recruitment shortfall. The GES has emphasized its commitment to ensuring a fair and transparent promotion process for all eligible candidates.
