Accra: President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema of Gabon on Monday morning arrived in Accra for a three-day state visit at the invitation of President John Dramani Mahama. President Nguema was welcomed at the Accra International Airport by President Mahama and was honored with a 21-gun salute upon his arrival. Additionally, he inspected a guard of honour mounted by the Ghana Navy.
According to Ghana News Agency, President Nguema's visit is marked by the presence of a high-level delegation that includes government ministers, senior officials, and members of the Gabonese business community. As part of his itinerary, President Nguema will pay a visit to the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park. There, he will sign a book of condolence to honor Ghana's founding President, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, and lay a wreath on his tomb.
The visit will also feature a tªte- -tªte meeting between President Nguema and President Mahama, followed by official bilateral talks at the Jubilee House in Accra. The discussions between the two Heads of State aim to review and enhance the current state of bilateral relations. They will explore new areas of cooperation beyond the existing political and diplomatic consultations.
