Fuel Stations Face Investigation by OSP Over Alleged Fraud

Accra: The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has launched an investigation into several fuel stations and Bulk Distribution Companies (BDCs) over suspected petroleum-related offences. A series of raids were conducted as part of this probe, targeting potential fraud within the sector.

According to Ghana Web, the OSP's investigation has named several companies, including Platon Oil and Gas Ltd, Sentuo Oil, Akwaaba Oil, Sahara Oil and Gas Ltd, and Chase Petroleum Ghana Ltd. The investigation aims to uncover issues such as petroleum import fraud, tax evasion, and possible collusion with officials.

The OSP's recent operations have included seizing documents from persons of interest and detaining several individuals to aid in the ongoing investigations. The focus of the inquiry is on the under-declaration of petroleum imports, falsification of product types during depot transfers, and tax evasion.
