Accra: An entrepreneur, Adekoya Ibukunoluwa, has initiated legal proceedings against Sandra Edoho, demanding N100 million in damages over alleged defamatory Instagram posts. These posts reportedly linked Adekoya to an extramarital affair with Sandra's estranged husband, renowned broadcaster Frank Edoho.
According to Ghana Web, the legal confrontation was outlined in a memorandum of claim dated July 17, 2026, and signed by Festus Ogun, a lawyer and Managing Partner of FOLEGAL. Adekoya accused Sandra of libel, fraudulent misrepresentation, and breach of privacy stemming from posts allegedly made on Sandra's Instagram page, 'vivibella_designs.'
The memorandum traces the dispute back to October 2023, when Adekoya reportedly met Frank Edoho at Hardrock Caf©, Lekki, Lagos. During this encounter, they discussed common interests and exchanged contact details. On November 19, 2023, Sandra allegedly impersonated Frank on WhatsApp, inviting Adekoya to the Edoho residence in Victoria Garden City, Lagos, with a promise of N10 million for simply attending.
The document further details that Sandra, under the guise of Frank's brother, transported Adekoya to the residence, where she was allegedly confined to a room. Frank, reportedly unaware and asleep during the incident, later apologized to Adekoya after being awakened and confronting the situation.
Following a marital rift between Sandra and Frank in May 2026, Sandra is accused of starting a public campaign against Adekoya. This included posting photographs, private conversations, and a video on Instagram, portraying Adekoya as one of several women linked with Frank. The posts allegedly damaged Adekoya's reputation, characterizing her as a 'prostitute' and a 'person of questionable character.'
A key piece of evidence in the memorandum is a post allegedly quoting Sandra's derogatory remarks about Adekoya, which went viral and resulted in cyberbullying and public ridicule.
Adekoya seeks a legal declaration that the May 19, 2026 Instagram post was defamatory, demanding its retraction and an apology from Sandra. She also seeks an injunction to prevent further similar publications, N100 million in damages, and legal costs.
The memorandum suggests the possibility of an out-of-court settlement, requiring Sandra to delete the contentious posts, issue a public apology for allegedly impersonating Frank, and pay N20 million in damages. Sandra has been given seven days to respond to these claims, with a warning of further legal action if she fails to comply.
