Kwafokrom: The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has promoted five police officers for their roles in the arrest of suspects involved in the robbery at the GOIL Filling Station at Kwafokrom, near Nsawam, in the Eastern Region.
According to Ghana Web, the officers who received promotions are Chief Inspector Eric Otoo, Chief Inspector Emmanuel Otu, General Sergeant Philip Amoah, Policewoman Constable Victoria Asiedu, and Policewoman Constable Rosemond A Frimpong. As part of their reward, Chief Inspectors Eric Otoo and Emmanuel Otu have been granted direct entry to the Police Academy. Meanwhile, General Sergeant Philip Amoah, Policewoman Constable Victoria Asiedu, and Policewoman Constable Rosemond A Frimpong have all been elevated to the next ranks.
These officers were acknowledged for their professionalism and swift response, which led to the arrest of two suspects linked to the robbery attack at the filling station. The IGP, along with members of the Police Management Board (POMAB), commended the officers for their dedication to duty and assured the public of the Police Service's ongoing commitment to combat violent crime and protect life and property throughout the country.
The robbery incident occurred on May 24, 2026, when armed robbers attacked the GOIL Filling Station at Kwafokrom. During the operation, the suspects allegedly shot a security guard and a pump attendant who had sought refuge in an office. The attackers absconded with an undisclosed amount of money, prompting swift investigations by the Eastern South Regional Police Command.
Through intensive intelligence and investigative work, police successfully arrested two suspects, Amos Boame and Collins Adjei, who are currently in custody and assisting with the investigations. A third suspect, known only as Ashivie (or Ashivic), remains at large and is actively being pursued by the police.
