Zurich: FIFA President Gianni Infantino recently welcomed Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku to the Home of FIFA in Zurich, Switzerland, for significant discussions on football development and potential areas of collaboration.
According to Ghana Web, Infantino shared insights from the meeting on social media, highlighting the discussions with Okraku, who also serves as a CAF Vice-President. The main focus was on continuing football development in Ghana and exploring additional opportunities to enhance the sport within the country.
Infantino noted that President Okraku and his team recognize the importance of grassroots and infrastructure development. He also acknowledged Ghana's recent achievements, such as the country's qualification for the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup, starting this Saturday, and the upcoming FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup.
Infantino expressed gratitude to the GFA for its ongoing support and efforts to ensure that football remains a viable opportunity for aspiring athletes in Ghana. The meeting is timely as Ghana gears up for major international youth competitions, with the Black Princesses set to compete at the U-20 Women's World Cup in Poland.
