FIFA Announces Media Accreditation Process for World Cup 2026

Zurich: FIFA has officially opened the media accreditation process for the FIFA World Cup 2026, allowing media representatives and non-rights holders to apply through the FIFA Media Hub. The process will be structured and quota-based due to high demand. According to Ghana Web, the accreditation opened on 26 January 2026 and will close on 31 March 2026. It is available for various categories, including written press, photographers, international and national news agencies, and radio and TV non-rights holders. FIFA Media Partners, who hold rights, will be managed directly by FIFA Media Partnerships. The FIFA Media Hub is the sole platform for submitting applications, necessitating an approved personal account for access. Each FIFA Member Association will manage accreditation for written press and photographers, distributing control keys based on previous World Cup participation and qualification status. Non-rights holders, however, can apply without a control key, though their accreditations will be limited. M edia representatives from Canada, Mexico, and the USA will follow a process coordinated by FIFA. Applications will undergo a mandatory security check, with confirmations sent in March 2026. Accreditation does not automatically grant match access; media tickets, which can be requested after accreditation, are required for stadium entry. Media are advised to initiate visa applications independently of the accreditation process. Official updates and FAQs will be available on the FIFA Media Hub, and inquiries can be directed through the platform's contact form.
