According to Ghana Web, the FDA announced the seizure on its official Facebook page. It identified the seized products as "Bel Ice Vodka Energy Drink and Cody's Vody Energy Mix." These products were banned in Ghana due to the potential health risks posed by the combination of alcohol and stimulants. The mixture is known to mask intoxication, leading to overconsumption and subsequent health hazards.
The FDA has advised the public to avoid consuming these drinks and reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding public health. The authority emphasizes the importance of consumer safety and warns against the consumption of banned products. The FDA also assures the public of anonymity when reporting unsafe food sellers, as stated by the Ashanti regional head.
