Yikurigu: A fatal road traffic collision involving a Yutong VVIP bus and a Toyota Sienna at Yikurigu in Zebilla along the Bolgatanga-Zebilla-Bawku highway has claimed three lives. The Yutong VVIP bus was travelling towards Bawku, while the Toyota Sienna was heading towards Bolgatanga when the collision occurred.
According to Ghana News Agency, the crash occurred in the early hours of Saturday, June 13, 2026, resulting in the death of three occupants of the Toyota Sienna at the scene, including a man, a woman, and a child. A statement from the Ghana National Fire Service indicated that three male occupants of the Yutong VVIP bus, including the driver, sustained injuries and were receiving medical attention at the Zebilla Hospital.
The statement said the exact cause of the accident is yet to be determined and remains under investigation. The statement expressed the thoughts of the Police Service to the bereaved families and wished the injured a full and speedy recovery.
