Breman asikuma: Mr Eric Kwesi Taylor, a concerned member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has called upon the party's leadership and senior members to address and curb reckless personal attacks, defamation, and insults from party communicators, supporters, or social media personalities.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr Taylor emphasized that political disagreements should be expressed with civility and respect, arguing that public discourse benefits when differences of opinion are debated on their merits rather than through verbal assaults. He made these remarks in a press statement titled 'NPP and the Mr Kennedy Ohene Agyapong Factor.'
Mr Taylor stressed that the party's path to victory in 2028 will rely not just on campaign messaging but also on the conduct and services of party members at all levels. He urged for meaningful engagement with communities through initiatives like job creation, women's empowerment, youth development, and volunteerism to build public confidence in the NPP.
He highlighted the potential benefits of Mr Kennedy Agyapong's active involvement in the party, noting that Mr Agyapong enjoys broad support both within and outside the NPP. Mr Taylor appealed to Mr Agyapong to focus on the bigger picture, setting aside past grievances, and continuing to contribute to the party's growth and success.
Mr Taylor, who is also the CEO of Penyman Group Limited, expressed admiration for Mr Agyapong as a business mentor, citing his entrepreneurial journey and political career as sources of inspiration. He acknowledged Mr Agyapong's courage in politics and commitment to youth empowerment through job creation and entrepreneurship.
While expressing admiration for Mr Agyapong, Mr Taylor clarified that this does not mean he agrees with everything Mr Agyapong says or does, recognizing that everyone has strengths and weaknesses. He encouraged the party's youth to refrain from attacking Mr Agyapong or any senior party member, even in disagreement, and to consider their future before engaging in political conflicts.
Mr Taylor called upon the NPP's experienced leaders, former Presidents, former presidential aspirants, national executives, and respected elders to address internal concerns and disagreements constructively. He concluded by urging party members to protect their future and destiny, invoking blessings for the NPP and Ghana.
