Accra: The Public Relations Manager of the Shatta Movement, Sammy Flex, has confirmed that the group has received a court document from the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) regarding a request for Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale's consent for the shipment of his yellow Lamborghini to the United States.
According to Ghana Web, Sammy Flex stated in a social media post on February 24, 2026, that the matter has been forwarded to the artiste's legal team for the necessary action. He confirmed the receipt of the court document issued at the instance of EOCO, which relates to the shipment of the Lamborghini.
He further mentioned that Shatta Movement's legal representatives are handling the matter through the proper legal channels. The statement emphasized that the issue has been duly referred to their legal team for appropriate action.
Background information reveals that on August 5, 2025, EOCO seized a 2019 Lamborghini Urus from Shatta Wale's residence. According to a press release issued by EOCO and signed by Acting Executive Director Raymond Archer, this action was part of an operation in June 2025. The operation responded to a 2023 request from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the United States Department of Justice.
The operation, conducted by EOCO's Surveillance and Asset Recovery Unit (SARU), resulted in the discovery and confiscation of the 2019 Lamborghini Urus. The FBI and Justice Department have linked the vehicle to the proceeds of criminal activities of Nana Kwabena Amuah, who is currently serving an 86-month sentence in the US for multiple financial crimes.
EOCO stated that Shatta Wale could not provide proof of ownership or evidence of legal purchase for the Lamborghini. In a statement on August 21, 2025, EOCO noted that Shatta Wale was unable to identify the person from whom he bought the vehicle. The artiste claimed that the seller had contacted him via WhatsApp, but he no longer has the person's contact information.
