Ellembelle MP Refurbishes Azulenloanu Clinic with Roofing Sheets

Ellembelle: Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Ellembelle Constituency, has provided roofing sheets for the refurbishment of the Azulenloanu Community Health Primary Services (CHPS) Compound. The intervention came after Nana Addo Nreda, Chief of Azulenloanu, petitioned the MP's office for support.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr Armah-Kofi Buah, who also serves as the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, presented the roofing sheets to the community through the chief, emphasizing the critical nature of health care needs in the area. He stated that this effort is part of the government's initiative to launch a free primary health care programme aimed at ensuring affordable health delivery across the nation. The MP expressed his commitment to continuing efforts to bring health care services closer to the people.

Mr Armah-Kofi Buah highlighted that his office has made numerous interventions in the health sector, including the construction of CHPS Compounds since he became the MP for Ellembelle. Nana Addo Nreda, who received the iron sheets on behalf of the community, expressed gratitude to the MP for addressing the health needs of the people.

The chief explained that the CHPS facility began as a community self-help project, initially supported by Mr Kwasi Bonzo, the former District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ellembelle. However, after four years, the roofing deteriorated due to the use of inadequate materials, leading to leakages that prompted nurses to request transfers. Nana Addo Nreda noted that he had invested personal funds in patching the leaks and connecting the clinic to the national electricity grid.

Regarding current health service access, the chief mentioned that turnout was low because nurses were not permanently stationed at the clinic, and there was a lack of medication for patients.
