Winneba: The Chiefs and people of the Effutu Traditional Area are gathering at Zion Park in Winneba, within the Effutu Municipality of the Central Region, to celebrate the grand durbar that marks the highpoint of the annual Aboakyir Festival.
According to Ghana News Agency, the festival features the Omanhene of the Effutu Traditional Area, Neenyi Ghartey VII, who made a regal entrance to the durbar grounds. His arrival was preceded by a vibrant procession of guards and attendants, all under a towering ceremonial umbrella, adding to the grandeur of the occasion.
The festival reached its peak as Neenyi Ghartey VII took his central position amidst the festivities. Immediately, a massive drum display erupted across the park, with thunderous fontomfrom and atumpan rhythms setting the celebratory tone. The park was packed with enthusiastic attendees, all eager to partake in the vibrant cultural celebration.
