‘Educate Yourself’ – BNXN Tackles Fat Joe Over Claims Jamaica Started Afrobeats

Lagos: Nigerian singer, BNXN, has criticized American rapper Fat Joe for his claim that Afrobeats originated from Jamaica. Fat Joe made several controversial statements during a recent podcast, including asserting that Afrobeats has Jamaican roots and that he played a role in BNXN changing his former stage name, Buju, due to the popularity of Jamaican dancehall artist Buju Banton.

According to Ghana Web, BNXN responded to these claims on his X page, urging the rapper to educate himself about the origins of African music. BNXN expressed his disapproval, suggesting that Fat Joe's misunderstanding and negative views on African music were impacting his appearance.

BNXN did not hold back in his critique, stating, "The hate in your heart and your misinformation about African music and its artists is why your chromosomes are all fked up." This remark highlights BNXN's frustration with what he perceives as a lack of understanding and respect for African musical heritage.
