Accra: The Electricity Company of Ghana has announced planned maintenance activities in the Accra East and Accra West Regions for Monday, May 25, 2026. Engineers are addressing network faults and technical challenges that caused power outages in the Tema and Accra West Regions over the weekend.
According to Ghana Web, the scheduled power outages will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Monday and are expected to last until 5:00 p.m., with each maintenance exercise lasting eight hours. In the Accra East Region, areas affected will include parts of Katamanso, ECG Quarters, Regimanuel Estate, Bayere Junction, Dzorwulu Railway, Dzorwulu UBA, and surrounding areas.
In the Accra West Region, the maintenance will impact Odawna, Upper Weija, Old Weija, Oblogo, Top Base, Agape, C.P., Maame Nkran, Ablekuma, Winners Chapel, Pentecost Junction, Agbaadzena, Fanmilk, and nearby areas. ECG stated that these planned outages aim to improve service delivery and enhance the reliability of the power distribution network.
The ECG expressed regret for any inconvenience caused by this exercise and assured that the interventions are necessary for the long-term robustness and stability of the power network. The announcement follows recent network faults that affected Dawhenya, Abbeykope, and other communities in the Tema Region, as well as Mamprobi, Camara, Agbogbloshie, Timber Market, and surrounding areas in the Accra West Region.
ECG has deployed engineers to rectify these faults and restore power supply to affected customers. The company apologised for the inconvenience caused by both the scheduled maintenance and the unplanned outages, reaffirming their commitment to resolving all network issues promptly.
