Menuso: The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has restored power to the Menuso Roadblock community in the Kadjebi District of the Oti Region, following a three-week outage caused by a collapsed transformer and damaged electricity poles.
According to Ghana News Agency, the prolonged blackout had disrupted economic and social activities, prompting local authorities and stakeholders to take action. Mr. Dzapaye Isaac, the Assembly Member for the Menuso Electoral Area, played a pivotal role in the repair process by organizing a boom truck to aid engineers in fixing the damaged infrastructure, significantly expediting the restoration work.
Mr. Yao Gomado, the Member of Parliament for the Akan Constituency, along with the Kadjebi District Chief Executive, Dr. Sam Issaka Suraj, also exerted pressure on ECG to replace the faulty poles and restore electricity to the affected area. Their coordinated efforts led to a swift response from ECG, successfully reconnecting power to the community.
Mr. Dzapaye commended both the MP and the DCE for their timely intervention and dedication, which provided relief to residents. In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mr. Musa Abiaduka Osumanu, ECG Jasikan Municipal Engineer, described the restoration exercise as challenging but successful. He acknowledged the significant challenge they faced, credited their success to divine intervention, and praised residents for their patience during the outage.
