Easter Call to Service: Prophet Korsinah Urges Ghanaians to Embrace True Purpose of Resurrection

Accra: Christians and Ghanaians in general have been urged to rededicate themselves to the true purpose of Easter, by serving God and humanity, and not abuse the celebration by engaging in immoral behaviour. Prophet Jones Kwadzodei Korsinah, Head Pastor of God's Haven Ministries, made the call during the Resurrection Sunday Service held in Accra, with a message on the theme: 'The Purpose of the Resurrection,' as congregants, many clad in white, commemorated the occasion with songs of praise.

According to Ghana News Agency, Prophet Korsinah emphasized that the lack of understanding of Easter's purpose leads to its misuse, particularly among young Ghanaians who reduce the occasion to partying rather than spiritual reflection. He criticized the trend of associating Easter with activities such as drinking and partying, urging Christians to lead lives that reflect the true purpose of Easter, which is to inspire change in others.

Prophet Korsinah referenced the epistle of 1 John 3:8 and Colossians 2:15 to explain that Jesus Christ's resurrection was a significant spiritual event with implications beyond annual commemoration. He stressed that Christ's death and resurrection disarmed and triumphed over evil, offering believers a pathway to genuine service to God.

He highlighted that the appropriate response to the resurrection is not worldly celebration, but renewed commitment to godly living, sacrificial service, and devotion to God and humanity. Drawing from the lives of biblical patriarchs like Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, Prophet Korsinah illustrated that service to God was a hallmark of greatness, not limited to the poor or obscure.

Prophet Korsinah noted that in ancient times, prosperity was measured by herds, servants, and family size, with Abraham exemplifying this through his vast wealth while still serving the Lord. He called on modern businesspeople to avoid letting commercial success overshadow their commitment to God and community service.

Extending his message to all Ghanaians, Prophet Korsinah emphasized that no matter their professional status or achievements, they should maintain a spirit of service. He concluded by stating that the higher one climbs in life, the greater their responsibility to serve, with Christ's resurrection being the ultimate model of this principle.
