Dzidzeme Foundation Enhances Education with School Uniform Donations in Ketu North

Ketu north: The Dzidzeme Foundation has extended its Stitch of Hope Project to the Kave D.A Primary School in the Ketu North Municipality, donating new school uniforms to more than 50 pupils, primarily at the kindergarten level. The donation, conducted on Friday, brought excitement and renewed confidence to the recipient pupils, many of whom had previously attended school without proper uniforms.

According to Ghana News Agency, Ms Melody Dzidzeme Klu, Founder of the Dzidzeme Foundation, stated that the initiative was a community-driven effort aimed at promoting equality, restoring dignity, and improving access to quality education for underprivileged children. She explained that a school uniform symbolised more than just clothing, noting that it represented belonging, confidence, and acceptance within the school environment. Ms Klu expressed appreciation to individuals and organisations whose support made the initiative possible, including Mr Anthony Ablorde Avorgbedor, former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ketu North, who donated the fabrics, and other partners who supported with sewing, logistics, and coordination.

Mr Anthony Ablorde Avorgbedor, also Founder of the Ablorde Foundation, mentioned that his organisation had been engaged in philanthropic work since 2015 and was committed to supporting vulnerable groups in society. He noted that he was inspired to support the project after engaging with the Foundation, adding that he was pleased to see the uniforms successfully delivered to the pupils.

Rev Martin Amenaki, the Municipal Chief Executive for Ketu North, commended the Foundation for the initiative, describing it as a significant contribution to education and child development in the area. He also used the occasion to highlight infrastructure challenges facing the school, which currently has a population of over 500 pupils but limited classroom space. The MCE assured the school authorities and parents that the Assembly would, within the shortest possible time, explore ways to provide additional facilities, particularly a kindergarten block, and work towards renovating existing classroom structures.

Mr Wisdom Kay, Chief Inspector of Schools, speaking on behalf of the Ketu North Municipal Education Directorate, described the donation as impactful, noting that uniforms help boost pupils' confidence, promote equality, and create a conducive learning environment. Mr Daniel Kofi Gabla, the Headmaster of the school, expressed gratitude to the Foundation, stating that the gesture would significantly support teaching and learning while instilling a sense of pride and belonging among the pupils. Some parents also lauded the Foundation for the intervention, saying it had eased their financial burden and would encourage regular school attendance.

The Stitch of Hope Project continues to expand its reach, with the Foundation calling on individuals and organisations to support the initiative through donations, volunteering, and partnerships to improve the lives of more children across the municipality and the country at large.
