Kumasi: The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) regional office in the Ashanti Region will begin extended operating hours from Monday, May 4, 2026. The office will operate two shifts daily: from 6 AM to 2 PM, and from 2 PM to 10 PM, with potential plans to expand to a 24-hour service based on patronage.
According to Ghana Web, the announcement was made during a clean-up exercise at the DVLA regional office as part of May Day activities. Regional Manager Jerry Edem Aflabo outlined the new operating arrangements, noting that the extended service hours would be rolled out across all 16 regional capital offices of the DVLA.
Aflabo emphasized enhancements to security and lighting systems to facilitate night operations, ensuring the safety of both staff and clients. Additionally, electronic payments will be mandated from 5 PM onwards to improve transaction security. The DVLA has urged the public to take advantage of the extended service hours.
