Accra: Former Vice President and Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, held a significant breakfast meeting with European Union Ambassadors in Accra on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. The gathering was hosted at the residence of the Italian Ambassador and included Heads of Mission from ten EU member states: Austria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, and Malta, alongside a European Union delegation.
According to Ghana Web, the discussions were constructive, with a strong focus on shared priorities such as regional security, economic cooperation, and investment opportunities in Ghana. Dr. Bawumia emphasized his ongoing commitment to strengthening Ghana's democratic institutions, fostering sustainable economic growth, and enhancing inclusive social development.
Dr. Bawumia was joined by Peter Mac Manu and Ambassador Dr. Emmanuel Enos during the meeting, highlighting the importance of collaboration and strategic partnerships between Ghana and the European Union.
