Accra: Ghanaian stand-up comedian DKB has publicly expressed his admiration for the National Democratic Congress General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, by offering to serve as his campaign manager if Kwetey ever decides to run for vice president. The comedian made the announcement on Instagram, highlighting his appreciation for Kwetey's support and presence at his annual comedy show.
According to Ghana Web, DKB's message, which doubled as a birthday greeting, recounted how Kwetey attended his comedy event at La Palm Royal Beach Hotel on January 3, 2026, and remained for the entire duration. DKB expressed his gratitude by urging his followers to acknowledge Kwetey for dedicating over three hours to enjoy the performances, showcasing his commitment to the youth and the arts.
DKB further emphasized the rarity of such a gesture from a high-profile politician, noting that Kwetey's willingness to attend the entire show reflected positively on his character and dedication. "I don't know how much more supportive you'd want somebody to be. Somebody in power with so much work to do. He left the work to come and give us support," DKB remarked.
He contrasted Kwetey's actions with those of government officials, who often have limited time for such engagements, while also taking a playful jab at the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) for having more available time. 'You don't get this with the ruling government. Because there's a lot to do. Unlike the opposition. Then they can sit through the show for seven hours. Where are they going? 38%. Where are they going?" he quipped.
In his closing remarks, DKB, a prominent figure in the Ghana Comedy Society, reaffirmed his support for Kwetey's potential vice-presidential ambitions, describing him as a youthful and supportive leader. "If he ever wants to go for vice president, I'm voting for him. Because he will be the most youthful supportive vice president. Somebody who can sit through a show to give all the comedians morale, that's somebody who thinks about the youth. Your number one campaign manager," DKB stated.
