Tema: The Deputy Minister of Defence, Brogya Genfi, has provided information regarding the recent helicopter crash in Tema Community One, which resulted in the deaths of both individuals aboard the aircraft.
According to Ghana Web, Brogya Genfi confirmed the fatalities and clarified that the helicopter was not affiliated with the Ghana Armed Forces or any other security agency. He revealed that the aircraft belonged to a group that regularly utilized one of the state's runways.
Brogya Genfi further explained, "I got the information of a helicopter crash somewhere around Tema Community One. So I checked with the Ghana Air Force and, yes, it was confirmed that there's a helicopter crash. But it doesn't belong to the Ghana Air Force fleet. It doesn't belong to the ministry or the Ghana Armed Forces." He noted that the helicopter was a microlight model, accommodating only two people, and confirmed that both individuals did not survive the crash.
The deputy minister also mentioned that army personnel are actively working to identify the victims and that authorities are seeking the helicopter's owner to aid in the investigation. "We have detailed some of our officers to go and look at it. we have to know the identities of the persons involved, and also we are making efforts to reach the owner of that aircraft to see who and who were on board," he added.
