Accra: Deputy Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Dr. Justice Srem-Sai, has expressed his astonishment at the media narratives surrounding the case of Kwabena Adu-Boahen, the former Director-General of the National Signals Bureau (NSB), who faces allegations of misappropriating over GHS49 million from the bureau.
According to Ghana Web, Dr. Srem-Sai, during an interview on JoyNews, highlighted the disparity between the media stories and the actual facts of the case. He noted that while the case is straightforward, involving the alleged diversion of state funds into Adu-Boahen's personal accounts, the narratives propagated by the defense lawyers often deviate significantly from the core issues.
Dr. Srem-Sai remarked on the various claims made by Adu-Boahen's legal team, including the assertion that the accused's wife was a National Security operative and that a private account linked to both Adu-Boahen and his wife was a National Security account. These claims, according to him, were later abandoned.
Furthermore, Dr. Srem-Sai refuted Adu-Boahen's claim that the funds were used to purchase equipment for the bureau, stating that an inventory check revealed this assertion to be false. The state has already presented evidence in court to support its case against the former Director-General.
