Accra: Former Accra Hearts of Oak defender, Dan Quaye has thrown his full support behind head coach Didi Dramani's decision to rotate his goalkeepers, insisting the policy is healthy for both the club and its players. Didi Dramani has alternated between first choice goalkeeper Benjamin Asare and deputy Solomon Agbasi in recent weeks, with both shot-stoppers delivering solid performances.
According to Ghana Web, Quaye expressed his approval of the rotation strategy during an interview with Koforidua based Bryt FM. He emphasized that Asare cannot be expected to play every match throughout the season and that the rotation does not diminish Asare's status or quality as a player. Quaye remarked that the Black Stars goalkeeper has already showcased his abilities, allowing him to sit out occasionally without impacting his standing.
Quaye also highlighted historical precedents at Hearts of Oak, mentioning that goalkeepers Sammy Adjei and Eben Dida successfully shared the number one spot in the past. He assured that this approach is beneficial and will not negatively impact Hearts of Oak or the Black Stars. Furthermore, he noted that Agbasi deserves the opportunity to prove himself.
