Confusion at Mission House as Pastor Runs to Live TV After Wife Chases Him Out

Kumasi: Prophet Kofi Amponsah, a resident of the Atwima Kwanwoma District in the Ashanti Region, is seeking help following alleged marital problems after his wife, Adwoa Brago, reportedly chased him out of their matrimonial home.

According to Ghana Web, Prophet Kofi Amponsah, who now resides at Pekyi No. 2, has been married to Adwoa Brago for the past 30 years and they have eight children together. He explained that his wife is allegedly destroying his church ministry through a series of accusations against him, mostly involving infidelity, which he denies.

Speaking on Oyerepa Afutuo, a programme that discusses domestic issues, the prophet said his ordeal began after a 14-year-old girl allegedly gave him money to keep for her to buy a mobile phone. Prophet Amponsah stated that because of the word of God, he now stays at Pekyi No. 2. Due to the nature of his work, he had to marry Adwoa Brago but claims she is destroying his church due to several allegations. He recounted that after informing his wife about the money given by the girl, he was later accused of having a relationship with her, leading to further conflicts.

He further explained that one day, his wife called him claiming that the roofing of their house had been destroyed. However, upon his return, he allegedly discovered that his belongings had been packed out of the house and that he had been chased away. Prophet Amponsah went to her family and informed them that if she has sacked him from the house, then she should take the house. But the family is now demanding GHS400,000 as compensation for the woman, which he cannot afford.

Prophet Amponsah also claimed that due to the accusations and constant misunderstandings, he left home to establish his church elsewhere, saying his wife had denied him peace. He mentioned that his wife always wants him to have an affair with her but that is not how their work is, adding that if he does, he will lose his visionary sight.

Meanwhile, Adwoa Brago, when contacted on the programme, presented a different account of events. She alleged that the prophet has neglected his responsibilities and frequently leaves home without informing the family. She claimed that he switches off his phone, making it difficult for them to reach him. Adwoa Brago also stated that they jointly own a cocoa farm but the prophet has refused to share the proceeds with her, contributing to the ongoing dispute. Her family has demanded GHS400,000 if he cannot share the cocoa farm.

She also alleged that the prophet has not been taking proper care of their children and dismissed claims that she chased him out of the house, stating that he showed little concern even when the roof of the house was damaged.
