Accra: The Chief Executive Officer of the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC), Samantha Cohen CVO OBE, has visited the Chief Executive Officer of the Millennium Development Authority (MiDA), Alexander Kofi-Mensah Mould, to explore potential areas of cooperation, with a particular focus on agriculture investment.
According to Ghana Web, the visit aimed to enhance collaboration between the two institutions, particularly in boosting agricultural investment. Cohen was joined by John Apea, the Head of Mission of CWEIC in Ghana, as they discussed ways to attract private sector investment into Ghana's agricultural sector. The discussions emphasized increasing productivity, enhancing value addition, and supporting the development of agribusiness.
Mould pointed out MiDA's role in promoting inclusive economic growth through strategic investment interventions. He emphasized that partnerships with international investment bodies like CWEIC could play a crucial role in mobilizing resources to support Ghana's development goals.
Cohen reiterated CWEIC's dedication to facilitating investment across Commonwealth countries and showed interest in aiding Ghana's agricultural economy through sustainable initiatives. The meeting concluded with both parties agreeing to explore practical steps to strengthen collaboration, particularly in the agricultural sector, for mutual benefit.
