Accra: Comfee Ghana Limited, a home appliance company, has donated 10 air conditioners worth GHC85,000 to the maternity ward of the Police Hospital in Accra. The air conditioners comprise 1.5HP, 2.0HP, and 2.5HP units.
According to Ghana News Agency, Ms. Pearl Gborglah, the Executive Director of Comfee Ghana Limited, emphasized the importance of businesses supporting the communities they operate within. She highlighted the company's commitment to enhancing patient comfort, especially in hospitals, to aid recovery. The choice of the maternity ward was due to the significant role women play in families and communities, ensuring they have access to comfortable surroundings during medical care.
Ms. Gborglah expressed hope that the air conditioners would provide a cooler environment for patients, aiding their recovery. She emphasized that the donation was about making a meaningful difference and enhancing the hospital's healthcare efforts while acknowledging the critical role of women in society.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Dr. Azue-in-yeng Luke Zakpaa, Deputy Medical Director of the Police Hospital, received the items and called for more logistical support from institutions and organizations. He stressed the need for equipment, drugs, and consumables to expand services at the busy facility, which frequently handles accident cases and patients without dependents.
Dr. Zakpaa noted the high cost of healthcare equipment and the challenges of replacing broken equipment. He expressed gratitude for Comfee Ghana Limited's donation and appealed for continued support to help alleviate the hospital's challenges.
