CIMG Accredits Kings University College as Study Centre

Accra: The Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Kings University College (KUC), accrediting it as a study centre. Under this agreement, the university college is authorised to offer programmes aligned with CIMG's professional standards and curriculum, providing students and professionals access to recognised marketing qualifications.

According to Ghana News Agency, Professor Albert A. Addo-Quaye, President of KUC, stated at the signing ceremony that the collaboration created a pathway for students to attain chartered status. He emphasized the university's commitment to this beneficial arrangement and fulfilling all obligations associated with it. Prof. Addo-Quaye noted that the accreditation would enable students to pursue professional marketing training within a structured academic environment, equipping them with the necessary knowledge, skills, and practical insights to thrive in a competitive business landscape.

Mr Michael Abbiw, National President of CIMG, highlighted the potential of the partnership to bridge the gap between academic training and industry readiness. He explained that by integrating CIMG's professional marketing qualification into the Kings University College experience, students could begin their degree and attain their professional certifications within the same four years. This, he noted, directly addresses the gap that graduates are not industry-ready, as balancing academic training with professional certification helps close that gap.

Mr Abbiw further added that the opportunity extends beyond marketing students to those studying journalism, sociology, information studies, and other disciplines, as marketing skills are applicable across industries. He expressed anticipation for a collaboration that transforms the development of the next generation of marketing professionals in Ghana.
