Yikurigu: Three people, including a man, a woman, and a child, lost their lives in a road collision at Yikurigu, near Zebilla in the Upper East Region. The tragic accident involved a Yutong VVIP bus and a Toyota Sienna minivan on the Bolgatanga-Zebilla-Bawku highway.
According to Ghana Web, the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) issued a statement on Saturday, June 13, 2026, detailing the incident. The statement revealed that the VVIP bus, which was transporting three passengers and goods, was en route to Bawku when it collided with the Toyota Sienna, which was traveling in the opposite direction toward Bolgatanga.
The collision resulted in the deaths of all three occupants of the Toyota Sienna at the scene. Meanwhile, the three male occupants of the VVIP bus, including the driver, sustained injuries. They were subsequently transported to the Zebilla Hospital for medical treatment.
