London: Chelsea youngster, Tyrique George has expressed interest in potentially switching his national allegiance from England to Ghana, opening up the possibility of playing for the Black Stars.
According to Ghana Web, the 19-year-old Chelsea academy graduate, who recently completed a loan move to Everton at the end of the January transfer window on February 3, 2026, disclosed his Ghanaian heritage through his mother. In his first interview as an Everton player, George stated, "my mum is Ghanaian and my dad is Nigerian."
Born in Camden, London, on February 4, 2006, George is eligible to play for either the Three Lions of England, the Super Eagles of Nigeria, or the Black Stars of Ghana. Despite having already made a significant impact on the England Under-21 team by scoring twice in four appearances, George's connection to Ghana remains strong due to his family background.
Throughout his career, George has represented England at various youth levels, including U16, U17, U18, and U19, before advancing to the U21 team. He participated in the European Under-21 Championship qualifiers in late 2025, further showcasing his talent on the international stage.
