Accra: Nana Kwame Bediako, the founder of the New Force, has made a bold declaration of his political ambitions, stating that he will sooner or later become the President of the Fourth Republic of Ghana. This assertion was made during his address at the Africa Real Estate Festival on April 18, 2026. Bediako, also known by his moniker 'Cheddar', expressed confidence in his future in Ghanaian politics despite his youthful appearance.
According to Ghana Web, Cheddar emphasized his commitment to not only becoming the President of Ghana but also to pursuing leadership across the African continent. He articulated his vision of building the continent and its people, stating, "I will walk through the other borders and we'll go ahead and continue the leadership of this continent, building this continent, building the people of Africa. That's my aim. That's my vision. That's what I want to do."
Cheddar's political presence has been growing since his participation in the 2024 presidential elections, where he garnered 84,478 votes, securing third place. His performance in the elections was notable, finishing ahead of Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, who received 31,202 votes, marking a difference of 53,276 votes. The election was ultimately won by John Dramani Mahama, as declared by the Electoral Commission, in a race that saw a total of 12 candidates vying for the presidency.
