Accra: Portuguese manager, Carlos Queiroz, has declared that taking over as the Black Stars head coach is the toughest challenge in his managerial career. In his initial remarks as the new coach, he expressed gratitude to the government, the Ghana Football Association (GFA), and fans who supported his appointment. He acknowledged the deep connection Ghanaians have with the Black Stars and the immense expectations placed on the team, noting that this pressure makes his role even more demanding.
According to Ghana Web, Queiroz, speaking to the media at the Alisa Hotel, emphasized that the Black Stars job will be the toughest of his career but affirmed his determination to give his best. He expressed appreciation to the Federation president, the board, the government, and the fans, stating that it is an honor and a privilege to be part of the team. Since his arrival, he has felt the spirit of the Black Stars and recognized the vast expectations that come with it.
Queiroz also highlighted that he will draw upon his extensive experience of over 40 years in coaching to make a significant impact with the team. He promised to bring his wealth of knowledge and experience to the role, emphasizing his international recognition in football.
