Ablakwa’s Bodyguard Dismissed Amid Allegations of Misappropriating Evacuation Funds

Accra:The Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has alleged that Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has dismissed his personal bodyguard amid accusations of misappropriating funds intended for the evacuation of Ghanaians from South Africa.

According to Ghana Web, the bodyguard allegedly pocketed approximately $10,000 from the funds allocated for the evacuation exercise. The NPP is calling for an explanation from Ablakwa to clarify the allegations and the circumstances surrounding the dismissal.

Miracles Aboagye stated that the NPP gathered information suggesting the bodyguard benefited financially from the evacuation process, leading to his dismissal. The party is urging the minister to address these claims, given his oversight role.

At a press conference, Aboagye also alleged discrepancies in the evacuation records provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, noting that some individuals were recorded as beneficiaries of financial assistance despite not signing documents to acknowledge receipt. The NPP demands further clarification from the minister regarding these alleged financial irregularities and the reported dismissal of the bodyguard.
