Boris Kodjoe Reveals Nicole Ari Parker Was Engaged When He Predicted Their Marriage

Atlanta: Boris Kodjoe recently made a surprising revelation about the early days of his relationship with his now-wife, Nicole Ari Parker, during an interview on The Kenny Burns Show. Kodjoe, who is renowned for his role alongside Parker in the family drama series Soul Food, shared an intriguing story about how he foretold their marriage even while Parker was engaged to another individual.

According to Ghana Web, Kodjoe, 53, recounted meeting Parker, 55, for the first time during a table read for the series. He described her as "super sweet" and possessing a "great heart," and recalled feeling an instant connection. While he wasn't sure in what capacity she would feature in his life, he was certain that she would play a significant role.

Kodjoe also credited Parker for being instrumental in the early stages of his career. As a newcomer to the industry, Kodjoe found Parker's guidance invaluable. She assisted him in understanding scripts and the cultural nuances of acting, which were particularly challenging for Kodjoe, who was born in Austria to a Ghanaian father and a German mother.

Despite the undeniable chemistry between them, Parker was engaged to her then-fianc©, Joseph Falasca. Kodjoe, however, boldly expressed his belief in their future together. At the end of the first season of Soul Food, he approached Parker with a bold prediction: "I just want to let you know that one day we're going to be married with two kids." This proclamation, as Kodjoe recalled, did not sit well with Parker initially.

Kodjoe revealed that Parker was upset with his declaration, considering it disrespectful given her engagement. She refrained from speaking to him for two weeks following the incident. Despite this rocky start, the couple eventually found their way to each other and have since become one of Hollywood's most beloved couples.
