Board Member of Lands Commission Aims for Ketu South NDC Vice Chairmanship

Accra: Mr. Daniel Jerry Sorokpo, a Board Member of the Volta Regional Lands Commission, has officially announced his candidacy for the Ketu South Constituency Vice Chairmanship position of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). Mr. Sorokpo, who also serves as a professional teacher and seasoned researcher, is recognized as one of the most experienced individuals within the constituency.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Sorokpo declared his intention ahead of the 2026 constituency elections, appealing to party delegates for their support to secure a victory. He emphasized his long-standing loyalty to the party and his significant contribution to the NDC's successful campaign during the 2024 general election. Mr. Sorokpo attributed his political journey to mentorship from party members and expressed his commitment to serving the party diligently.

Mr. Sorokpo highlighted his experiences working closely with party hierarchies, which have instilled in him the understanding that serving the NDC requires vision, dedication, and unity. He aims to restore Ketu South to its rightful status and enhance development within the constituency. His decision to run is driven by a desire to provide effective support to the party, reshape its fortunes, and uplift its standards ahead of the 2028 general elections.

He plans to collaborate with the executive team to introduce innovative ideas that will elevate the constituency. Mr. Sorokpo pledged to be a servant leader, ensuring that the concerns of branch executives, grassroots supporters, and stakeholders are addressed at all decision-making levels within the party. His focus areas include enhancing employment opportunities for the youth and improving accessibility, alongside restructuring welfare opportunities for branch executives.

Mr. Sorokpo's commitment extends to prioritizing job creation, accessibility, and the welfare of branch executives. He aims to unite and mobilize the party's base to strengthen it for victory in 2028. He called upon grassroots party faithful and branch executives, whom he termed as vital pillars of the party's success, to back his leadership bid for the party's advancement.

He urged collective support for his ambition, emphasizing unity in service to God, the NDC, and the nation. Mr. Sorokpo concluded by stating that his victory would symbolize a triumph for the party and all citizens in pursuit of development.
