Bishop Obinim Warns Estranged Wife Florence Against Discussing Marriage in Media

Accra: Bishop Daniel Obinim, founder of the International God's Way Church (IGWC), has issued a stern warning to his estranged wife, gospel singer Florence Obinim, advising her to avoid discussing their marital issues in media interviews. This comes after Florence's recent appearance on Peace FM, where she addressed aspects of their troubled marriage.

According to Ghana Web, the preacher's warning was delivered in a viral TikTok video shared on June 26, 2026, following Florence's interview on June 25, 2026. During the interview, Florence spoke about potentially dropping her husband's surname from her brand identity amid their ongoing marital feud. She also mentioned receiving a new vehicle, highlighting that despite over two decades of marriage and ministry, she had never owned a car in her name.

Bishop Obinim emphasized that Florence should refrain from responding to questions about their marriage during her media appearances and focus solely on promoting her work. He expressed that if she continued to speak publicly about their marriage, he would also feel compelled to speak out, which he warned could have severe consequences for her.

The preacher noted that while many believe Florence does not speak ill of him, her comments still subject him to public ridicule and criticism. He cautioned that continued public discussions could lead to familial discord, with their children possibly turning against her.

The couple's marital issues have been a topic of public interest in Ghana, with both parties making statements about their relationship. The controversy began when Bishop Obinim accused Florence of changing after associating with individuals he disapproved of. Subsequently, he moved out of their home to a new residence amid the crisis. Florence has publicly stated that if her husband wishes to divorce her, he is free to do so.
