Bishop Obinim Declares He Will Not Return Home Amid Family Dispute

Accra: The founder of the International God's Way Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim, has publicly announced his decision not to return to his matrimonial home. This declaration comes even after one of his children, Gifted, appealed to him to come back and restore order within the household.

According to Ghana Web, Bishop Obinim shared with his congregation that after he left his matrimonial home, he received a voice note from his son, Gifted. In the message, Gifted expressed concerns about his brother, Promise, who had reportedly taken the family's G-Wagon vehicle at night and crashed it. The son pleaded with Bishop Obinim to return and discipline Promise, as neither he nor their mother, gospel singer Florence Obinim, could manage the situation.

During a church service, Bishop Obinim played the voice note for his congregation. In the recording, Gifted can be heard saying, 'Daddy, please, I'm your son. You told me not to tell you anything about Promise but, look, I was asleep and Promise went to take the car and went out in the night and crashed it. Daddy, please do something about it because I can't do anything. Please come back home; you need to control Promise, please.'

Following this, Bishop Obinim sought the opinion of his congregation on whether he should return home. However, a church member voiced concerns about the potential risks he might face from his own family if he returned. Despite various suggestions from church members encouraging him to go back, Bishop Obinim firmly stated that he would not return, citing his personal safety as a priority.

The situation has been part of a broader marital dispute between Bishop Obinim and his wife, Florence Obinim, which has recently captured public attention. The conflict began when Bishop Obinim accused his wife of changing due to her association with certain individuals he disapproved of. Subsequently, he moved out of their home and relocated to a mansion in Trasacco.

Florence Obinim has since responded to the situation by saying that if her husband desires a divorce, he is free to pursue it. Despite this, Bishop Obinim's recent statements indicate that he remains resolute in his decision to stay away from his family home, even amid appeals from his son.
