Big Push: Sunyani MCE Commends Contractors for Quality Work

Sunyani: Mr Vincent Antwi Agyei, the Sunyani Municipal Chief Executive, has commended two contractors executing various roads in the municipality under the government's 'Big Push' road infrastructure programme for quality works. The contractors are Kofi Job Construction Limited, executing the 34-kilometer Sunyani Outer Ring Road, and Alexiboam Constructions Limited, constructing the Sunyani-Ntotroso Road projects.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr Agyei gave the commendation when he provided an update on the road construction projects during an interview in Sunyani. He stated, "We have cleared the contractor and very soon Kofi Job will start asphalting sections of the outer ring road project," and assured the government's dedication to complete all those road projects under the 'Big Push'.

The MCE also addressed the dualization of the Sunyani-Abesim Road project, which had been stalled for some time, explaining that the municipal assembly initiated that road project and was funded by the central government. However, Mr Agyei expressed concern that some permanent buildings and structures affected by the road construction works were yet to be demolished, thereby delaying the execution of the project.

Mr Agyei mentioned that the President had assured the commencement of construction work on the Sunyani Inner Ring Road projects later this year and urged residents to maintain their confidence in the government. He also noted that the deplorable conditions of access roads in the Sunyani township, including Sunyani Newtown, Baakoniaba, Kotokrom, and Abinga roads, were being reshaped.
