Berekum Police Cage 70-Year-Old Man on Suspicion of Wizardry

Berekum: The Berekum police in the Bono region have placed a 70-year-old man under safety custody on suspicion of wizardry. Residents of Berenyekwa, a suburb of Berekum, found the suspect trapped in a private salon car in the early hours of Thursday.

According to Ghana News Agency, the incident has thrown the community into a state of shock and disbelief, with many people rushing to the scene to catch a glimpse. The aged man was found trapped in the vehicle, seated behind the steering wheel. Some young men managed to break into the vehicle, rescue him, and send him to the police station. Their action aimed to prevent community members from attempting to lynch him.

The owner of the vehicle, Mr. Bismarck Malik, who is the Proprietor of the Paradise Preparatory School in the area, had parked and locked the car before traveling. Residents were surprised to find the old man locked inside the next morning. A police source indicated that investigations are ongoing.
